If you have a porch and don’t know how to decorate it, try adding some outdoor style to it using lawn ornaments. They can range from wind spinners and wind chimes for at or above eye level décor to flower pots, stands and garden statues at waist or floor level. There are even garden plaques you can find to decorate your walls with.

Starting with your eye level or above, wind spinners and wind chimes offer a great welcoming feel to any outdoor and indoor space. These kinds of lawn ornaments entertain while adding a pleasant sound or view to look at. They are a great conversation starter and look beautiful wherever they are. Wind chimes come in all different kinds and sizes. Some good suggestions for where to place your wind chimes would be near a doorway. Wind spinners are usually seen hanging from a hook stand in your yard. However, there are ways you can hang these them from the ceiling of your porch for display. A corner spot is usually the best for wind spinners so they catch as much of the breeze that comes in from the windows as possible. Make sure your wind spinners are fanned out properly to get the most spinning action.

For eye to floor level décor, planter stands are great for displaying all sorts of lawn ornaments, garden planters and even your favorite books. Your porch is a great place to display planter stands and garden planters full of flowers or green plants. They are protected from harsh weather such as rain, wind and snow, so it’s much easier to maintain. Other lawn ornaments you can display on your planter stands include garden gnomes, fairy statues, and even wind chimes and wind spinners can be hung from some planter stands. Use planter stands to display collection items such as decorative bird houses or themed decor such as frogs or butterflies.

Other lawn ornaments that accompany a porch atmosphere well are large garden planter pots for the ground. These are usually used for a small tree or large plants and make great corner décor. Garden statues are also fun items to bring into the porch floor area. Usually these garden statues should range in size from at least 12″ to no more than 3′ in height. Having too little of a garden statue on the floor level may go unseen and forgotten whereas having too big of a garden statue in the porch may feel a little overcrowded and in some cases a little overwhelming. So make your best judgment according to your porch size and layout.

Using your porch to display a range of lawn ornaments is a great idea, especially for people who live in 4-season areas. Wind chime and wind spinner lawn ornaments make perfect décor items for eye-level viewing. Planter stands have the capabilities to display an assortment of lawn ornaments and even books for readers. Garden statues and large garden planters are great lawn ornaments for the floor level. These ideas should set up your porch atmosphere nicely.
