Hypertufa

Would Hypertufa Planters contain enough residual lye to burn the roots of my plants?
I know you’re supposed to be wearing gloves when you make stuff out of it, but it chaps my hands.
Some people call it lye. Others say it’s lime.
Nope. I’ve made them and grown stuff in them for years. Never had a problem.
Cement planters are not an issue either.
Hypertuffa is basically cement with peat moss and sometimes some other stuff mixed in.
